Women's Health Physiotherapy in West Berkshire
Common doesn’t mean you have to live with it
Leaking, pelvic pain, prolapse, painful sex, symptoms after birth or surgery – these are some of the most common reasons women see a physiotherapist, and among the least talked about. Our specialist experienced Women’s Health Physiotherapist has decades of experience and treats them with the same rigour as any other injury.

What is Women’s Health Physiotherapy?
A specialist branch of physiotherapy
Women’s health physiotherapy focuses on the pelvic floor, abdominal wall and surrounding structures – the muscles, nerves and connective tissue involved in bladder and bowel control, pelvic support, and sexual function.
Our experienced physiotherapist has completed additional specialist training beyond general musculoskeletal physiotherapy.
Every appointment is one-to-one, in a private treatment room, and starts with an unhurried conversation about your symptoms and history before any physical assessment takes place – always with your consent and at your pace.

Your first visit
What to expect?
-
A conversation first
We’ll talk through your symptoms, medical history, and what’s been affecting you day to day – birth history, surgery, bladder and bowel habits, whatever’s relevant. Nothing physical happens until you’re ready.
-
An assessment, only with consent
Where appropriate, this may include an internal examination to assess pelvic floor muscle strength and function. This is always explained beforehand and only carried out with your clear consent – you’re in control throughout.
-
A plan you understand
You’ll leave with a clear explanation of what’s going on and a treatment plan – which might include pelvic floor exercises, manual therapy, bladder or bowel retraining, or advice on movement and lifting.
-
Ongoing support
Follow-up sessions track your progress and adjust the plan as things improve – most people are seen over a series of appointments rather than just once.
Initial consultation £100 (1 hour)
Follow-up appointments £90 (1 hour)
Who you’ll see?
