GX extreme
performance
At Gecko Fitness our sports performance centre GX is proud to be
helping many athletes achieve their dreams. Here are just a few of our
leading lights who are pushing both mind and body to the edge.
Lee Richardson
- Speedway
Lee was born in Hastings in 1979 and is the son of former Eastbourne
and Wimbledon rider, Colin. He made his speedway debut with Reading in
1995 and won the World Under-21 Championship in Denmark in
1999 before going on to win the Elite League Riders Championship at
Coventry in 2003. He now rides for Swindon Robins and has been a regular for Team Great
Britain in the World Cup tournaments for the last four years. Lee
trains hard and uses Gecko's expertise to help him with
both fitness and the nutritional aspect of sports
training.
Stew Mackie - Wakeboarding
Stew is British Team captain, Masters National
Champion and official UK National coach. He coached the UK Wakeboard
National Team to four european titles and coaches many top riders.
Gecko works closely with Stew to maintain his strength and fitness to
enable peak performance.
Will Christien - Wakeboarding
Will is top female pro wakeboarder, ranked 3rd in the UK Wakeboard
Tour and 4th in the European Wakeboard Tour. She is also one of UK's
top coaches. Will works with Gecko to continually push her fitness
levels for competition.
Paul Smith - Motor racing
Paul was born in January 1958 and is married with one son, Senna,
named after Ayrton Senna and a daughter. He began motor racing
in 1998 with a Formula Ford car and quickly progressed to a much more
powerful Formula 3, which initially really tested his fitness. He
now races both the Formula 3 and a 1995 Formula 1 Grand Prix car at
Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Donnington and tracks in Belgium. Through
dedicated training and hard work with GX, Paul has managed to improve
his lap times.
"My training
is really paying off as my lap times are quicker, I have
better cardiovascular fitness, I'm leaner and I'm leading a much
healthier lifestyle."
