Beef-up burger to scoff post-workout

You will need (makes 4 burgers)

  • 450g extra lean minced organic beef
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds
  • 1 tbsp onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp red pepper finely chopped
  • ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Toasted wheat-germ
  • 1 whole-wheat bun
  • 1 apple, sliced (as a side dish)
  • Optional garnish: lettuce, thinly sliced tomato and honey mustard

Instructions

  1. Put the beef, seeds, onion, and both types of pepper in the bowl and kneed
  2. Make 4 thin patties, roll them in wheat-germ until covered
  3. Grill one burger to your liking: 4 minutes each side for medium rare
  4. Serve with the garnish of your choice
  5. Freeze others for future use
